Encouragement

Writer's picture: Gloria WigginsGloria Wiggins

The Lord said to Gideon, The people who are with you are too many for Me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel boast about themselves against Me, saying, My own hand has delivered me. Judges 7:2

God gets the credit for every victory in our life. He is the One who delivers. This story began with God proclaiming to Gideon that He was a mighty man of valor. He instructed him that he will be used to deliver Israel from the hand of the Midianites. Gideons' response "I'm the least of my clan." But God...

There are several messages hidden in this short passage. The first is that God's selection includes His equipping. Long before you were a thought in your parent's mind, God was thinking of you and has prepared you for this day.

You might be like Gideon - called by God to do a seemingly impossible task by which you have assessed in your own strength. Take a moment to consider not your strength but God's - and move forward as He instructs you.

In Judges 7:2-7, God reduces Gideon's army from 32,000, to 22,000 to 9,700 until only 300 remain. With only 300 men, God says now I will deliver the Midianites into your hands. The emphasis being I WILL.  It wasn't Gideon or the army's strength nor was it Gideons' will. God willed and He delivered!

This word is to encourage you to step out boldly into what God is leading you to do. If you are suffering loss, don't dismay, God adds through subtraction so that He might receive all the glory! Be encouraged!
