Faithfulness

If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny who he is. 2 Timothy 2:13 NLT

This scripture speaks to me because I often stand on it in times of personal disappointment. As Believers, we are constantly trying to live up to some standard of righteousness - consciously or unconsciously. Not realizing that God has imputed His righteousness to us in the person of Jesus Christ when we trust Him as our Lord and Savior.

In the hustle of our demanding society, we will inevitably come up short in some area of our lives. In spite of all that we do, there's always someone that will think (and be vocal about it) that you didn't do enough. If you're like me, this weighs on you, because we naturally want to please people. When we discover that we haven't condemnation will creep in.

This word is to encourage you to remember that in spite of all your failures, missed meetings, missed social gatherings, shortcomings at work and home, and in general disappointment with yourself or life...God is faithful! The scripture reminds us that even when we are without faith, God does not change. He remains faithful.

Faithful to what you ask? Faithful to the call and purpose that He has ordained for your life. Don't allow yourself to drift into a state of depression, low spirits or poor self-esteem because you have failed to meet the expectations of man or even yourself. Trust that God is committed to you and what He has ordained for your life.

This week I encourage you to meditate on the nature of God and His qualities. Take your mind off yourself and your situation. God is bigger than all of that! Meditate on Him and watch your situation diminish in light of who He is.
