Harvest

Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let not your hands be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well. Eccl. 11:6

Ecclesiastes is a book written by one of the wisest and richest men ever, Solomon. If you recall, when Solomon was appointed king he asked God for wisdom and a discerning heart to govern his people I Kings 3:9.  God was so pleased with Solomon request that He granted him wisdom and also wealth and honor that exceeded all the kings of his time.

In the opening scripture Solomon instructs us to sew our seeds. Moreover, he warns us not to become idle or anxious waiting for the harvest from our seeds because we do not know which seed will produce.

During this God ordained season of sewing and reaping, I believe this is a word in due season. Many members of the body of Christ have sewn some wonderful seeds and are expecting a harvest. Some of us have sewn financial seeds, others our time, patience and love.

As you wait on your harvest I encourage you to guard against impatience and discouragement.  Your harvest will come if you remain faithful because sewing and reaping is a spiritual law of the kingdom of God.  It is as proven as the law of physics in the natural world. God is faithful. However, in order to experience the faithfulness of God we must remain faithful to Him.

Don't become discouraged because your harvest hasn't manifested in the time and manner that you expected. It will come. This word is to encourage you to continue to sew. God, not man, is Lord of the harvest. He determines the time and type of harvest that we will receive. He also determines the seasons of our harvest. Galatians 6:9 warns us not to become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Be encouraged this week as you continue to expect a harvest from the seeds you've sewn. Trust God to manifest your harvest in His appointed time and season.
