Love Series: Hope & Perseverance

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered; it keeps no record of wrong. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protect, always trust, always hopes, always perseveres. I Corinthians 13:4-7.

Hope is the cornerstone of faith and perseverance is the foundation upon which the Christian must stand. If we are in Christ, then we have an enduring hope that is not swayed by past, present or future circumstances. It is a hope that is pivotal to the Christian existence and effectiveness in the world that we live in.

I thank God that hope is a virtue of love because without hope we faint. If we faint in our belief or circumstances, then we loose the motivation to live. Love is an action word, and hope is the motivator that keeps it running smoothly.

Of the two remaining virtues, hope and perseverance, these are the most vital to walking daily in love. All the other characteristics can be achieved in short duration, but it is hope and perseverance that propels one to move beyond themselves and uncover the greater good in every circumstance. I close this love series with hope and perseverance: two virtues - traits that are forever connected. You can't persevere without hope, and you can't continue to hope without perseverance.

Our love walk is one of endurance. It is a marathon, not a sprint. I pray that this series has encouraged you and  found fertile ground in your heart. Each day forward be inspired to walk in greater degrees of sincere love as Christ has defined it. As always...be encouraged!
