Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered; it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. I Corinthians 13:4-7.
Week 9 of the Love Series. I thank God that we have entered week 9 of this series. I pray that each of you have been blessed through an increased understanding of the Word of God.
This week our focus is on love keeping no record of wrong. This is a common struggle. People are going to commit offenses against you (even in the church body). It is our responsibility, as we strive to be conformed to the image of Christ, to forgive them. This is not accomplished in our own strength. It is only through the power of the Holy Ghost that we are able to achieve this.
Forgiveness is taught regularly in the church body; however wiping the offense from our mind is not taught. Even though we have forgiven an individual, sometimes we hold to the memory of the offense. The enemy uses this to tempt us into bitterness and strife.
God declares in Isaiah 43:25 " I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more." We must walk in His ways.
I encourage you this week to ask God to remove the memory of the offense so that you can walk in total victory. Be encouraged.
