Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered; it keeps no record of wrong. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. I Corinthians 13:4-7.
As we enter week 11 of the Love Series, we are encouraged to rejoice in truth. What is truth? Truth is the immutable, inerrant Word of God. Whatever God declares in His Word about your or your circumstance is the truth. It doesn't matter what the situation or facts are speaking to you. God's Word has declared the truth - the expected, intended end. This is a cause to rejoice.
As Christians, we are admonished to walk by the truth. I have been faced with many circumstances that initially did not line up with truth. However, I declared God's Word over the circumstances and every one has conformed to truth.
God's Word is the final authority. We must be thoroughly convinced of this. We can't allow what we see in the natural to dissuade or discourage us. We are called to walk by faith and not by sight. If we walk by sight we will stumble.
I encourage you this week to apply the truth of God's Word to every area of your life. Get a topical bible and look up your specific need. Whatever the scripture states confess (which means agree with) it. Don't be discouraged, be encouraged and...REJOICE IN TRUTH!
