Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude,

it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. I Corinthians 13:4-7
Week 7 of the Love Series. We all know that seven has significance regarding the things of God. It represents completeness. It is not a coincidence that self seeking is the seventh characteristic of what love is not. I believe that as we strive this week to not be self - seeking (checking our motives and attitudes in everything); we will break the strongholds that have caused us to fail in our love walk. I believe this for myself and I am believing this for you.
We don't have to consult the dictionary for a definition of self- seeking because it is self explanatory. It denotes persons who is more interested in pleasing or exalting themselves versus anything or anyone else. As Christians, we are called to represent Christ and His interests, not ours.
Self seeking ways are another enemy of love. Let's be careful how we walk this week. The Word declares that we should walk circumspectly, especially regarding those of the household of faith. To walk circumspectly means to be watchful, careful and discrete.
I encourage everyone, to not be weary in their well doing. We know that Gods word does not return void. If He declares that love is the most excellent way...then we walk in "His" excellence. I want to offer a word of prayer: Father, Help us this week to live outside of ourselves and in You. Help us to sanctify ourselves, desires and needs for the sake of living for the kingdom.
This is my sincere prayer this week. Don't be condemned. Be encouraged!
