Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the desert these forty years to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not your would keep his commands. Deuteronomy 8:2
Do you love God or His blessings? Test, trials and persecutions will reveal what is in your heart. Are you, as the children of Israel were, in a wilderness? Maybe you are in a season of testing, refining, or pruning.
Because you will walk in some new things this season, God must prepare you. His greatest blessings await you - the promised land - where the land overflows with the abundance and goodness of God.
During this season God reveals what is in your heart. He already knows... the test is to reveal to you what your true motives, intents and affections are for God.
He requires two things: That we love Him with all our heart, soul and mind and that we love our neighbors as ourselves. These two commands encompass all of the commandments. The tests are a test of your faithfulness and love for Him. It is a circumcision of the heart...where other desires are cut away and your only desire is for Him.
Be encouraged during your test. It is only a season and is intended to prepare you for the next level. |
